Google Cloud has unveiled Gemini Enterprise for Industries, a sweeping industry-specific initiative that leverages its unmatched AI stack and capabilities. The platform will span 10-12 key sectors, with financial services and legal being the first two to be addressed.
Gemini Enterprise for Industries is built around four technological and marketplace extensions: deep domain expertise coded into essential skills, secure connections to relevant data and systems, agents that perform vital tasks rather than offer suggestions, and an open ecosystem that extends, expands, and optimizes solutions.
According to Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, general-purpose AI lacks the sophisticated domain-specific expertise required for industry-specific functions and processes. He argues that creating context-rich technological and go-to-market extensions around Gemini Enterprise can deliver industry-specific functionality and business outcomes.
