Google Commits $17 Billion to Wyoming Data Center Project

Google has taken over a massive $17 billion data center project in Wyoming, which will create 2,500 construction jobs and employ around 250 people once operational.

The project, dubbed Project Tembo, is located next to U.S. Highway 85 near Cheyenne and features four data center buildings, evaporative wastewater lagoons, a logistics center, two core network facility buildings, and a two-story Google office building.

Google's land acquisition and development lead Eric Murray said the project represents a $17 billion investment in the community, with the company committed to replenishing 120% of the water it consumes through regional watershed projects.
