Google has announced a delay in processing applications for access to its Business Profile API due to an unusually high volume of requests. According to Victoria Kroll, who posted on the Google Business Profiles support forum, 'due to an unusually high volume of API applications, processing times are currently extended.'

Kroll added that Google is working diligently to process all applications but cannot provide a specific response timeframe for pending applications at this time.

Local SEO expert Krystal Taing echoed Kroll's statement on LinkedIn, noting that the delay is not uncommon and that Google is actively working through the backlog of requests.
