Google Deploys Chrome OS in Contact Centers Amid Pandemic
Google has taken another step in expanding its Workspace solutions by deploying Chrome OS as an integrated platform for contact centers. This move is part of Google's effort to provide a secure and efficient solution for businesses, especially during the pandemic. Contact centers that partner with Google can now access a range of features, including remote management, new contact center solutions optimized for Chrome OS, and access to Citrix Workspace.
The move follows the trend of companies shifting their operations online due to the pandemic. With device manufacturers such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung already on board, Google's operating system is poised to become a go-to solution for various industries. The company has partnered with seven contact center solution providers to optimize their tools and services for Chrome OS.
Nicolas Fernandez, DevOps Engineer at Mercado Libre, noted that the cost savings of moving to Chrome OS and Workspace were significant, but more importantly, it allowed them to save people's time and be more productive. The company hopes that other companies will follow suit in structuring their daily operations around Chrome OS.
