Google Deploys Three New Subsea Cables Across Americas
Google's parent company Alphabet Inc. is expanding its subsea cable systems across the Americas. The new cables are part of an effort to establish a robust digital infrastructure in the region.
The three new cable systems - Alisios, Canoa, and OlaLuz - will connect major hubs including Panama, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Bermuda, and Florida. Alisios will link the Dominican Republic, Panama, and Chile, while Canoa will connect the Dominican Republic with Bermuda. OlaLuz will connect the Dominican Republic to Florida.
The expansion is aimed at supporting growing data demands in the region. Google's move comes as several countries in the Americas are vying to establish themselves as regional digital hubs.
