Google Ditches China for Vietnam and India: Pixel Sales to Soar
Google's Pixel phone strategy has shifted to an 'attack' mode in 2026, aiming to sell around 13 million units worldwide. This significant growth plan comes as the company is set to end production in China next year and focus on manufacturing in Vietnam and India instead.
The move follows years of efforts to relocate production out of China, with reports dating back to 2019. The latest development marks a major milestone for Google, which has already started producing the Pixel 11 series entirely in Vietnam. This success has given the company confidence to move all its Pixel products outside of China by 2027.
Despite facing challenges such as 'RAMageddon' and subsequent price hikes on the Pixel 11 series, Google is determined to maintain shipment growth momentum at all costs. To achieve this goal, the company has been bundling orders for Pixel components with those from its cloud business to increase negotiating power.
