Google Ditches Older Smart Speakers Amid New Product Launch

Google has discontinued production of its older smart home products, the Nest Mini and Nest Audio. The two devices were released in 2019 as entry-level and mid-range options for the search engine giant's smart home ecosystem.

The $35 Nest Mini was an affordable option with limited features, while the $100 Nest Audio offered better audio quality and a larger form factor.

Google has stated that it will continue to support both devices through security updates, patches, and customer service. The decision to discontinue these products is not surprising, given the company's recent announcement of a new all-purpose Google Home Speaker for $100.
