Google is changing its approach to AI-generated content watermarks. Users will soon be able to remove visible watermarks from images and videos created by certain models, including the Nano Banana, Omni, and Lyria.

The change comes as part of a broader effort to balance creative control with safety concerns. Google VP Josh Woodward said that users in countries where it's required by law to keep watermarks will still have them visible.

Google is rolling out this toggle feature except in countries like the EU and South Korea, which recently introduced rules requiring visible watermarks on deepfakes.
