Google Ditches Visible Watermarks on AI-Generated Content
Google has announced that it will soon allow users to remove visible watermarks from AI-generated content, such as images and videos. This feature will be available in the company's Gemini models and video editor Flow, with search support coming later.
The move balances creative freedom with the need to identify AI-generated media. Users can toggle the watermark on or off in settings, while invisible SynthID watermarks and metadata will remain for transparency purposes.
Google has also introduced an open-source library called Credentio, which allows developers to embed validation in their apps. This move is aimed at promoting the use of AI-generated content while maintaining accountability and authenticity.
