Google Dodges Breakup After Judge Rejects AdX Sale
Google has narrowly escaped being forced to sell its AdX exchange after US District Judge Leonie Brinkema rejected the Justice Department's attempt to break up the company.
The ruling was a major victory for Google, which had argued that selling AdX would be technically difficult and disruptive for customers.
Brinkema instead ordered changes to how Google operates its ad tools, including giving rivals greater access to bidding data.
This is the third time in recent years that US regulators have failed to break up Big Tech companies, following similar rulings involving Meta's acquisition of Instagram and WhatsApp and a previous case involving Chrome.
