Google Drops €13B on Finnish Digital Infrastructure
Google has committed to investing at least €13 billion in digital infrastructure across Finland over the next two years, marking its largest single outlay in Europe. The investment will cover new digital infrastructure in four regions and support services such as Gemini, Search, Maps, and YouTube.
The spending is expected to support more than 37,000 jobs nationwide and contribute an annual average of €3.6 billion to Finland's GDP once operational. The facilities are projected to support around 7,000 jobs annually.
Google also includes a commitment of €31 million for local community initiatives over four years, including €10 million for research and innovation. Additionally, more than 4,400 workers will receive AI skills training through local partnerships.
