Google Drops $15 Billion Bombshell on Finnish AI Scene

Google is investing $15 billion in its Gemini AI infrastructure in Finland over the next two years. This investment will be spent on building three new data centers and expanding an existing one, with construction expected to begin in 2027.

The project aims to meet growing demand for Google's core services, such as Search, Maps, and Gemini, which rely heavily on AI computing capacity. According to Justin Copie, CEO of Innovative Solutions, 'People don't realize how scarce the compute capacity and the inference capacity is today.'

Google's investment in Finland is part of its $205 billion spending plan for 2026, focused on expanding its AI infrastructure and data centers as demand for computing capacity continues to grow.
