Google Dumps AI-Generated Imagery from Google Earth Amid Misinfo Fears

Google's recent addition to Google Earth has been rolled back just one day after its launch. The feature, called Nano Banana, was designed to allow users to generate infographics and see historical images of locations using AI technology.

However, critics quickly pointed out that the tool made it easy for users to spread misinformation on the platform. For example, users could create fake images of a nuclear strike or protests at Google's offices.
