Google Enters Bluetooth Tracker Market with Pixel Tag
Google has introduced its response to Apple's AirTag, called the Google Pixel Tag. This Bluetooth tracker is designed for Android users and allows them to locate everyday valuables such as keys, wallets, and luggage from their devices.
The Pixel Tag uses Google's Find Hub network, which taps into a crowdsourced network of over one billion Android devices to securely help locate a missing tag that's no longer within range of your own phone. This location information is end-to-end encrypted by Google.
One of the key features of the Pixel Tag is its ability to use precision finding, which gives users distance and directional cues to help pinpoint a nearby tag. It also has left-behind alerts, share with family, and find your phone features.
The Pixel Tag will cost $29 for one or $99 for a four-pack when it goes on sale November 11. Google says the replaceable CR2032 battery lasts up to a year, making it easy to use without frequent recharging.
