Google Expands AI Mode with Link Carousels for Developing Topics

Google has expanded its AI Mode feature to include link carousels for developing topics. This new feature is in addition to the existing link carousels available in AI Overviews.

Robby Stein, a Google representative, announced on X that link carousels are now live in AI Mode. According to Stein, 'Our goal with AI Search is to make it easy to connect with original coverage and a range of perspectives.'

However, not everyone is happy about this development. Adam from Inspired Taste expressed concerns that AI Overviews can directly replace publishers by pushing their links down. He tweeted that the query 'baked apples recipe inspired taste' had an AIO claiming to be his content.
