Google is expanding its Gemini Notebook Short Video Overviews feature to support over 70 languages and three new English variants. This move aims to make it easier for users to generate summaries in their preferred language, regardless of the source material's original language. The feature uses concise storytelling and educational animations to turn uploaded documents, notes, and links into short videos that summarize key concepts.

The expansion includes languages such as Afrikaans, Amharic, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Bengali, and many others, with 76 listed languages and regional language variants. Additionally, Google is adding English accents or regional variants for Australia, the United Kingdom, and India.

This broader rollout is expected to expand the potential use cases for Short Video Overviews across education, research, and professional work. By turning source materials into short vertical videos, Gemini Notebook aims to bring a format commonly associated with social media into research and learning workflows.
