Google has significantly expanded its presence in Goleta by acquiring a two-building campus at 147-153 Castilian Drive for $32.5 million. This acquisition brings Google's total office and research & development space in the area to approximately 300,000 square feet.

The newly acquired property, which totals around 83,000 square feet, is located on a 5-acre site at the gateway to Santa Barbara Research Park. The campus features full-height storefront glass with mountain views, ample natural light, outdoor patio space, and creative office buildouts with exposed ceilings throughout.

Google's growing presence in Goleta is closely tied to its partnership with UC Santa Barbara on quantum computing and artificial intelligence research. The company has maintained leased space at 6868 Cortona Drive and a quantum AI lab at 301 Mentor Drive, both of which are connected to this research.
