Google Expands Image Generation App to All Users
Google has expanded its image generation and design app, Google Pics, to all users. Initially released in May as a rival to services like Canva, Google Pics was previously restricted to a small group of testers.
To use the app, you'll need an AI Pro or Ultra plan, an AI Pro for Education subscription, or one of several Workspace plans including Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus.
Google Pics lets users build designs from scratch or edit existing images, using image segmentation to isolate specific subjects and objects. The app also enables editing or translating text in images while maintaining design and font integrity.
The platform allows for real-time collaboration, enabling multiple users to edit the same image simultaneously. Additionally, Google Pics integrates with Google Docs and Slides, allowing for quick image edits within these platforms. Integration with Drive is forthcoming.
