Google Faces Backlash Over Wetlands Plan for Fort Wayne Data Center

Indiana state regulators held a hearing on Google's plans to fill more protected wetlands as its Fort Wayne data center grows.

The public had a chance to comment on the project and its impact on the water ecosystem, with concerns raised about the loss of wetlands once they are destroyed.

Linda Hathaway, a concerned resident, stated 'Once wetlands are destroyed, you're not gonna get them back. Buying a credit, tryin' to fix 'em somewhere else, it's not ever gonna be the same.'

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is still accepting public comment on the proposed data center expansion through Friday.
