Google Fiber Tech Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Explicit Content
A Google Fiber technician has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of online exploitation after allegedly sending an explicit video from a customer's phone to himself during an installation.
The incident occurred in early August at a woman's apartment in Irvine, California. Logan Edward Gray-McCannon, 37, was hired by GFiber (formerly known as Google Fiber) to install internet service.
During the installation, Gray-McCannon asked to use the customer's cell phone to test the Wi-Fi signal. The victim later discovered that a video she had sent to her partner via text message had also been sent from her phone to another device through iMessage.
The woman was able to trace the number the video was sent to back to Gray-McCannon, leading to his arrest on September 11 at his home in Hemet. He has been charged with commercial burglary, sharing a private sexual image of a person without consent, and unauthorized computer access.
