Google Fixes Favicon Bug, Resolves Crawl Stats Data Gap
Google has fixed two bugs related to its search engine, including an issue with favicons not showing up in search result snippets and missing data in the crawl stats report.
The favicon bug started about a week ago, where Google stopped displaying the defined favicons for many sites in its search results. Instead, it showed the default globe icon.
Rajan Patel from Google reported that the issue should be resolved within 12 hours on August 22nd. By now, it is mostly fixed.
The crawl stats bug started around August 14th or 15th and caused a two-day data gap in the report. The issue was fixed a few hours ago, on Sunday, August 23rd.
