Google Forced to Overhaul Search Results After Record EU Fine

Google has made significant changes to its search results following a massive fine imposed by the European Union. At the end of July, the EU fined Google €890 million for breaches of the Digital Markets Act (DMA). According to Google, these changes are the 'greatest deterioration in quality' in the history of the search engine.

The fine was split into two parts: a €460 million penalty and a separate €430 million fine. The changes aim to reduce Google's dominance in certain markets, particularly for hotel and flight searches.
