Google Gemini App Arrives for Windows with AI-Powered Features
Google has released its Gemini app for Windows, following its debut on macOS. The tool is designed to integrate seamlessly with other Windows applications and provide instant assistance wherever possible. Users can summon Gemini using an Alt + Space keyboard shortcut, which allows them to query the tool or use it for tasks such as fact-checking documents, suggesting ideas for presentations, and creating images and videos.
Gemini Spark, a 24/7 personal AI agent, can also be used with the app. With permission, it can connect to compatible Google services like Gmail and Google Drive to pull necessary information for drafting emails or presentations. However, users must be 18 years or older and have a Google AI subscription to access Gemini Spark.
The tool's capabilities are said to run in the background without slowing down PCs, and more native desktop features will be rolled out over time. Users can download the new Gemini app from Google's website, which is compatible with both Windows 10 and Windows 11. The app requires a Google AI subscription for full functionality.
