Google Gemini Passes 1 Billion Monthly Active Users

Google's Gemini AI assistant has reached a major milestone with over 1 billion monthly active users. This figure surpasses its previous total of 750 million in February, and marks the app as Google's fastest-growing product ever.

In a recent tweet, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai announced the achievement, stating '1B+ people are now using @Geminiapp every month to spark new ideas and get things done.'

Gemini has become increasingly popular since its introduction, with 63% of users interacting with it through voice commands. The app is also responsible for generating over 150 million photos daily.

Meanwhile, Sensor Tower estimates that generative AI apps saw a 108% year-over-year revenue growth from in-app purchases in Q2, totaling $2.38 billion. ChatGPT accounted for 60% of this revenue, with Gemini ranking sixth among most-downloaded apps worldwide last quarter.
