Google Health Update Brings Improved Workout Logging and Map Experience
The latest Google Health update is rolling out now, bringing several meaningful changes to activity and fitness tracking, weight monitoring, and Health Connect. The new features are a response to user feedback, which criticized the app's initial launch for being fragmented and hard to navigate.
One of the biggest updates is improved manual workout logging, giving users more control over what they can enter when inputting data. Users will now be able to add and adjust more metrics when logging their workouts, with changes appearing in workout summaries more quickly.
The update also includes an improved in-app map experience, with faster loading times and smoother rendering and adjustments. Trail and incline runs are now counted toward Running Distance totals, addressing a bug that affected users who encountered missing maps during running or biking sessions.
The weight graph's minimum and maximum values have been expanded, making it easier to see drastic changes in weight over time. Finally, the update fixes issues with Health Connect, which lets users share health and fitness information with multiple applications securely.
