Google Hikes Prices on Most Nest Cameras and Doorbells Amid Component Cost Increases
Google's Nest lineup has seen a price increase across nearly all its camera and doorbell products, effective immediately. The company attributes this hike to 'rising component costs'. This move comes on the heels of a $50 price increase for the Google TV Streamer.
The price adjustments have been applied to five Nest products: the three camera models and two doorbells. Prices have risen by $20-30 in the US, representing an 11% increase over their previous prices.
Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery) now costs $199.99, up from $179.99; the Nest Cam Outdoor (wired, 2nd gen) has gone up to $199.99 from $149.99; and the Nest Cam Indoor (wired, 3rd gen) is now priced at $129.99, up from $99.99.
The only product left unaffected by this price hike is the Nest Cam with Floodlight bundle, which remains $279.99. Google's statement emphasizes its commitment to providing customers with 'industry-leading smart home security and continuous feature updates' despite these price adjustments.
