Google Honors Dolly Parton with Butterfly Tribute Animation

Country music legend Dolly Parton has passed away at age 80 after a brief battle with cancer. The singer's representatives confirmed her death on Tuesday, August 25th, to The Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network.

Parton died at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, where she had been hospitalized since August 21st. Her representatives did not state what type of cancer she had.

In honor of her legacy, Google has launched a tribute animation that appears whenever someone searches for her name. The animation features a butterfly and the phrase 'We'll Always Love You, 1946-2026.'

Parton's passing has sparked an outpouring of tributes across the country, including the Empire State Building lighting up pink.
