Google Introduces Fine-Tuned Image Editing with Google Pics
Google has announced the launch of Google Pics, a new service that allows users to create and edit images within its existing apps. Unlike Google Photos or Google Images, Google Pics is designed for fine-tuned editing capabilities, enabling users to generate images from scratch.
The service utilizes Gemini and Nano Banana technologies, although it's unclear which version of the latter is being used. Google Pics will be available as both a standalone product and integrated into Google Workspace apps like Slides, Docs, and Drive.
Currently, access to Google Pics is limited to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers, as well as most Google Workspace business customers. The integration with Docs and Slides begins immediately, while Drive will follow in the coming weeks. Google advises patience as it rolls out the service over the next few weeks.
