Google's investment in a massive Arkansas solar and battery project will provide power to its data center. The search giant is contributing $526 million toward Entergy Arkansas' Arkansas Cypress Solar and Battery project, which will be built near Pine Bluff.

The project, estimated to cost approximately $1.602 billion, includes 600 megawatts of solar capacity paired with 350 megawatts of battery storage. It's expected to begin operating by the end of 2028.

Google's contribution is roughly one-third of the project's total cost and part of a larger $716 million package tied to its West Memphis data center. The remaining $190 million is designated for transmission-system upgrades needed to serve the facility.
