Google Invests Record $13 Billion in Finnish Digital Infrastructure

Google has made its largest investment in Europe to date by committing $13 billion to Finland's digital infrastructure over two years. The tech giant plans to support data centre build-outs and other strategic infrastructure while also funding clean energy and nature restoration projects.

The initial construction phase next year is expected to support more than 37,000 jobs nationwide in Finland, contributing €3.6 billion to the country's GDP. Around 16,000 of these jobs are estimated to be in construction.

Once operational, Google said the new infrastructure will support 7,000 jobs annually, including on-site facility and technical roles as well as upstream suppliers of equipment and services.
