Google Joins Forces with Nevoya and Green Lane to Electrify Texas Trucking
Google is partnering with electric truck startup Nevoya and the Center for Green Market Activation to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission trucks on a key freight corridor in Texas.
The project, which involves 63 trucks, is set to launch in early 2027 and will be the largest known deployment of class 8 battery-electric trucks in Texas. The partnership aims to create dedicated charging infrastructure for the route, with Nevoya partnering with Greenlane to supply the necessary charging stations.
The project allows companies like Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Green Worldwide Shipping, and Meta to participate in a procurement and book-and-claim system, which breaks out the environmental attributes from the electric trucks. This helps unlock capital and operational certainty for deploying electric capacity where it makes commercial sense.
