Tech giants are flocking to Finland for its favorable data center environment. Google has joined Microsoft and TikTok in investing heavily in the country's AI infrastructure.
Google's €13 billion ($15.1 billion) investment will support data centers and energy infrastructure at four locations, with a focus on grid upgrades and renewable energy projects.
The tech giant also signed an agreement with Finnish utility company Fortum to extend the life of a nuclear power plant in Loviisa, ensuring 10% of Finland's electricity supply remains online beyond 2030.
