Google Keep Gains Search Functionality for Android Users
Google has updated its note-taking app Keep for Android with a new search feature called 'Find in note'. This allows users to quickly find specific text within a note by tapping on the three-dot overflow menu and selecting the new option. The search term is highlighted in yellow, making it easy to identify.
The update is part of a server-side update with version 5.26.331.02.90 of Google Keep for Android. This means that users don't need to download an updated app from the Play Store, as the feature will be available automatically. However, users may need to restart their app or wait a short while before it becomes active.
This update is just one step towards more advanced features in Google Keep. The next major update is expected to bring voice capabilities, allowing users to create notes and lists using only their voice. This feature was previewed at I/O 2026 and is set to arrive this summer.
