Google Launches Ad-Supported Streaming on Google TV
Google TV devices have just gained access to over 10,000 free movies and shows on Google TV Freeplay, as well as 300 live channels. This new service offers a wide range of content from top studios like A24 and Lionsgate, including Oscar winners such as Lady Bird and popular titles like Seventeen Again and Hell's Kitchen.
The library will be refreshed throughout the year with new content, but for now, users can enjoy ad-supported viewing on their Google TV devices. Channels include the new World of Love Island, Bloomberg TV+, Yahoo! Sports Network, and The Martha Stewart Channel.
This move is part of a growing trend in the streaming industry, where companies are offering free-to-watch content with ads in an effort to reduce subscription fatigue and competition for consumers' attention.
