Google Lays Off 52 Employees Across Multiple Washington Locations
Google has announced layoffs affecting 52 employees across several locations in Washington state. The tech giant filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the state, revealing that roughly 21 employees will be let go from its Kirkland facilities.
The affected Kirkland employees were notified between July 8 and August 4, while those at Google's Redmond office located at 17275 N.E. 67th Court received notice on August 4, with separations anticipated for October 4.
Software engineers made up the bulk of the layoffs, along with managers and designers. Three remote employees residing in Washington were also laid off, with all separations expected to be permanent between September 6 and October 4.
