Google Live Translate Gets Real-Time Two-Way Conversational Upgrade
Google has revamped its Live Translate feature in the Google Translate app, bringing real-time two-way conversational audio and on-screen text translation to Android and iOS users.
The upgrades aim to make conversations across languages more seamless, with Live Translate now supporting over 70 languages, including Hindi, Arabic, French, Korean, Spanish, and Tamil.
One of the key additions is Gemini-powered speech intelligence, which uses advanced speech recognition and multimodal Gemini models to isolate background noise in environments such as busy cafés and airports.
The app can automatically detect the active language as users speak and provide dual-language transcripts on screen while playing the translated audio.
