Google Maps Changes Lake Ontario Name to 'Lake America' for US Users

Google Maps has updated its labeling for Lake Ontario in response to President Trump's executive order renaming it Lake America. The change only affects US users, who will now see 'Lake America' on their maps.

In Canada and other countries, the lake will still be labeled as 'Lake Ontario'.

This move follows a similar update last year when Google relabeled the Gulf of Mexico as 'Gulf of America' for US users after Trump's executive order. Apple Maps has not yet made the change.
