Google Maps Reflects Trump's Executive Order Renaming Lake Ontario to 'Lake America'

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to rename Lake Ontario 'Lake America'.

As a result, Google Maps has updated its service to display 'Lake America' when people in the United States search for the term.

However, Canadians will still see it written out as Lake Ontario on Google Maps.

The change is based on the U.S. government's geographic names database, which has formally changed the name of the lake.
