Google Maps Renames Lake Ontario to 'Lake America' Following Trump Executive Order

Google Maps has changed the name of Lake Ontario to 'Lake America' for U.S. users, following President Trump's executive order.

The tech giant cited its decision on Saturday as a reflection of the U.S. Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) formal renaming, which also took place in response to the executive order.

However, Canadian Google users will continue to see the lake named 'Lake Ontario', while international users will be shown both names.
