Google Maps Saves the Day for Parking Struggles
Google Maps offers a simple solution to help users find their parked cars even in large and complex locations like airports. The feature allows users to save their parking location, add notes about the level and section of the car park, and share the exact spot with someone picking them up.
To use this feature, users need to follow four easy steps. First, they need to tap 'Save parking' on the Google Maps menu, which will drop a marker at their current location. This marker will remain until the user chooses to remove it.
Next, users can add more details about their parking spot by tapping on the 'Parking location entry' and selecting 'More info.' Here, they can type in notes like 'Level 3, Section C' or 'Blue level, near Myer,' which will help jog their memory when they need to find their car.
Users who park at metered spots can also add the time left on the meter by entering the hours and minutes. This feature helps users avoid fines and stress caused by forgetting the parking time limits.
The fourth step is to share the parking spot with someone picking them up, which can be done by tapping 'Share' in the 'More info' screen. Users can send the exact location directly through a text message or any messaging app they use.
