Google Meet Expands Its Reach with In-Person Meeting Notes

Google Meet has expanded its capabilities by introducing a feature that allows users to take notes even during in-person meetings. This new feature, called 'Take notes for me,' uses speech recognition technology to create a transcript, summary, and action items in a Google Doc after the session.

The feature is now rolling out to eligible Google AI and Workspace plans on Android, web, and iOS devices. To use this tool, users can open the Google Meet app or visit the redesigned web portal and tap the 'Take notes' button next to 'New call.' On the web, they can select a meeting and click 'Take notes for me' in the top-right corner.

Once finished, Meet compiles a structured Google Doc with topic summaries, key decisions, action items, and a full transcript. The file automatically lands in a dedicated 'Google Meet' folder in the user's Drive, and a link is emailed to them.
