Google Messages' Chat Themes Hit a Bump in the Road

Google's Messages app has been rolled out to users after months of testing in August. However, some users have encountered issues with the new chat theme feature.

Users report that the chat theme option is disappearing and reappearing for them. Others experience a noticeable lag when loading wallpapers, taking around one to two seconds between opening a chat and the wallpaper loading.

A user on Reddit claims that the feature freezes when trying to pick a theme or back out of the selector.

Google has been reached out to comment on the issue, but no response has been received yet. Users are advised to check the Play Store for an app update, as a fix may have already been released.
