Google Messages Overhauls Pinned Chat Feature with New Limitations

Google Messages is revamping its pinned chat feature, capping the number of conversations users can pin at six. Currently, users can pin up to 20 conversations, but this limit will be reduced as part of a broader UI update.

According to an APK teardown by Android Authority, the new design will display pinned conversations with large contact icons that update when new messages arrive. The redesign also includes the ability to reorganize the order in which these chats appear.

This change aims to declutter the interface and provide a more streamlined experience for users. While some may see this as a limitation, it is likely intended to prevent cluttered interfaces with multiple pinned conversations.
