Google Offers Free AI Tools to Malaysian Students in Global Initiative
Google has introduced a new initiative to support students in Malaysia and over 140 other countries by offering them 12 months of Google AI Plus at no cost. This offer is part of Google's suite of AI tools and offers aimed at enhancing digital skills among young people, aligning with the Malaysian government's push to broaden access to AI software.
The Google AI Plus subscription provides students with Gemini Omni, which allows them to interact with various input types, including video, through voice. It also includes increased usage limits during exam periods and 400GB of storage for academic files. Students requiring higher usage limits can subscribe to the Google AI Plus plan at RM23.99/month (from RM97.99), which includes four times higher usage limits in Gemini.
The free offer and discounted plans run until 31 December 2026, and students can check their eligibility and sign up through Google's official student offer page. Alongside these offers, Google has introduced new AI-powered study tools across Gemini and Search, including Study Notebooks, Practice Quizzes, and integration with Google Classroom.
