Google has launched an education-focused offer giving university students access to its Gemini AI Pro plan and 400GB of cloud storage for free. The 'Back to School' programme is available globally, starting from August 21, and allows eligible students to use Gemini's premium features for a year.

The offer includes higher usage limits than standard users and access to 400GB of cloud storage. Students can also get discounts of up to 70% on Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium subscriptions. To be eligible, students must be at least 18 years old, have a personal Gmail account, and provide proof of current university enrollment.

The Gemini Pro plan offers advanced AI tools that can assist with academic and research-related tasks, including coding, data analysis, and complex mathematical problems. It can also help prepare drafts for assignments, reports, presentations, and quizzes. The offer could give students greater access to advanced AI tools at no cost for the first year.
