Google Ordered to Ease Access to Third-Party Android App Stores

A recent court ruling has prompted Google to modify its process for finding third-party Android app stores on the Google Play Store.

The change comes after a judge in Google's ongoing court battle expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of accessing these stores, calling it 'not acceptable.'

As reported by The Verge, Judge Donato gave Google a week to make changes, including allowing third-party stores to be easily found using search phrases and treating them more like standard apps.

Currently, users need either a direct link or specific search terms to discover these stores, which has been deemed 'friction' by the judge.
