Google Pay is expanding its reach in the US market by partnering with Walmart. The service will allow customers to tap to pay using Google Pay for a quicker and more secure checkout experience at select Walmart stores and Sam's Club locations, with plans to roll it out to all U.S. stores and clubs by the end of 2026 and to fuel stations by mid-2027.

This update builds on the ongoing partnership between Google and Walmart, bringing the convenience and security of Google Pay to one of the country's largest retailers. According to Stavan Parikh, VP/GM of Payments at Google, 'Whether you're shopping for groceries or picking up everyday essentials, you expect a convenient checkout experience that moves as fast as your life.'

Customers can add their preferred card to Google Wallet and let Google Pay handle the checkout process. This will allow them to get back to their day without having to wait in line or deal with cash.
