Google Photos is updating its reaction feature for shared photos. The new feature will allow users to react to shared photos with any emoji from the emoji picker, not just a heart.

The current version of Google Photos (v7.90) shows a redesigned set of buttons when viewing a shared photo. Users can tap on the like button to add a heart reaction or the emoji icon to open the full emoji picker.

The new feature is more versatile than a previous iteration that offered only five emojis and added reactions as comments to photos.
