Google Photos Android Update Adds Long-Press Image Copying
The Android version of Google Photos has received an update in early to mid-September 2026, which adds a new feature for copying images.
This feature can be accessed by long-pressing on an image within the app. Normally, this action would display the 'Copy sticker' menu, but now users will also see the option to 'Copy photo'. By selecting this option, the image itself is copied to the clipboard, allowing for easy sharing across other platforms.
This update brings parity with the iOS version of Google Photos, which has supported copying images since early April 2026. However, it's worth noting that the iOS version does not yet support long-pressing to copy an image.
