Google Photos Drag-to-Select Bug Fixed After Widespread Outage

Google has resolved an issue in its Photos app that affected users' ability to select multiple photos by dragging their finger over them. The bug, which was reported on Reddit by several Google Photos users, caused long-pressing on a photo to result in scrolling the screen rather than selecting additional images.

The problem was not limited to specific devices; it reportedly affected Pixel phones as well as some Samsung and OnePlus models. Fortunately, users could still select multiple photos by tapping them individually, although this process is more time-consuming than dragging-to-select.

Google has confirmed that a fix has been rolled out, which can be updated through the Play Store. Users should now be able to easily drag their finger over images to select them in the Photos app.
